As an electronics technician for operating technology, you install electronic components in switchboards and machines. You regularly maintain, extend or modernise components in switchboards and control systems and repair them if they are defective. You also program, configure and test electronic systems. Electronics technicians for operating technology require dexterity and good hand-eye coordination to enable them to install cables, e.g. in difficult-to-access places. You need to work in a diligent manner when handling live components and power connections. Changing, extending or planning electronic systems requires technical understanding.
Training period: 3.5 years
